Effective treatment for old and new scars!
Strataderm is a silicone gel, used for effectively treating old and new scars. Scars that are red, slightly raised or keloid would benefit from this product. Silicone is used widely given it’s evidenced based applications as a first line of defence for treating scars. Silicone acts a bit like a membrane and creates a ‘green house’ effect for the scar. Scar issue contains dis-organised collagen fibres. The silicone creates a layer of protection and can assist with scar / skin warmth which may improve collagen organisation.
