Referral and Fee Structure

What to Bring to
Your First Appointment

Do I Need a Referral?

YES

If claiming your injury or condition through a third party such as ReturnToWorkSA, Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan or Department of Veteran Affairs.

NO

If attending as a private patient, paying for treatment yourself or using your private health Extras cover.

Private Health Insurance

Hand therapy services are provided by our team of occupational therapists and physiotherapists. We accept all private health rebates and have immediate online claiming for most health funds. Different health funds and tiers of Extras cover will vary and this determines if you will receive a rebate. If in doubt, please check with your fund to see if you have occupational therapy and physiotherapy cover. Some funds reimburse the costs of custom made orthoses / splints.

ReturnToWorkSA and / or Third Party Claims

This is for clients who sustain an injury related to their work or a motor vehicle accident. We will require a referral and all relevant claim details including a claim number. Your referral could be from a GP, specialist, claims manager or other allied health professional.

Medicare
(Enhanced Primary Care Plan)

If we are seeing you under a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC), you will need a signed plan from your GP for occupational therapy or physiotherapy. Up to 5 sessions are available with a reimbursement of $55.10 per appointment. Full payment is required at each appointment but our staff will assist with processing your rebate from Medicare using your Medicare card and Cheque/Savings Eftpos card.

National Disability Insurance Scheme
(NDIS)

We accept plan-managed or self-managed clients. Clients can either pay for their consultation at the time of visit or provide an email address for forwarding-on invoices to a plan manager. We will require contact details of your plan manager and written confirmation of approval for services prior to your first appointment.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs
(DVA)

If we are seeing you under DVA you will need a referral from your doctor prior to the consultation. Gold & White Card holder status provides eligibility for accessing this scheme. Please ask our friendly administrative team how this may apply to you.
