Strengthening is a key component to injury recovery and promoting long-term hand use.

We will assess your upper limb and guide you through a graded exercise program to target your concerns and goals. Strengthening may be used to promote joint stability and hand postures to reduce pain. It may also facilitate safe re-introduction to using the hand or arm with load following acute or chronic injuries.

Strengthening needs to be completed at the correct phase of injury and may be done in an incremental way to prevent re-aggravation and promote injury healing. Heavier load is usually increased as upper limb capacity improves. We will monitor and continue to upgrade strengthening as your symptoms improve to get you back doing the activities and tasks that you want to do.
