– The University of Queensland

Profile

Leah graduated from the University of Queensland in 2017 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours). Throughout her studies and university placements Leah gained a love for hand therapy. She sought out a range of clinical experience during her Hand therapy placement; Leah attended a number of hand surgery theatre lists and liaised with consultants.

She also has the unique experience of being trained in Telerehabilitation. Leah spent the final year of her degree volunteering in a private Hand Therapy practice in Queensland and working as an Occupational Therapy assistant within a paediatrics case load. These opportunities have provided her ongoing experience with a variety of acute and chronic hand and upper limb conditions.

Leah applies evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning with client-centred goals while working with her clients to support their hand and upper limb rehabilitation journey and return to functional and meaningful occupations. Leah is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association currently, working towards full accreditation membership.

Leah has a real passion for hand therapy, a commitment to research, professional development, and a willingness to learn and grow as a specialist practitioner of hand therapy. Leah currently consults at Daw Park, Mawson Lakes and Wakefield street.
