Description

The Rainbow Hand Exerciser / Gripper by Northcoast Products is a simple yet effective design that engages forearm and hand muscles. Whether recovering from injury or wanting to beat your mates in an arm wrestling competition, this is the gripper you want. It has multiple colour coded levels of difficulty and is easy to use. There are several methods in using this device to activate different muscle groups. See the attached images for Composite Gripping (targets forearm flexors), Hook Gripping (targets hand intrinsic muscles), Platform Gripping (targets lumbrical muscles) and Lateral Pinch Gripping (targets thumb strength.)

When selecting which level, it should be noted that Level 1 would be prescribed to someone with near no grip strength or very soon after an injury. Level 5 might be prescribed for body builders or people in job roles that require extremely high hand strength. For the average male, the Level 5 is too hard to compress the springs fully.

• The spring design allows different forces to be placed on different parts of the hand. In one slow grip, the springs can be loaded on the thumb and index finger side of the hand or little finger side of the hand. This is a dynamic movement which is proprioceptive in nature.
