2017 Speaking Engagements

8th May 2017

Royal Australian College of Surgery’s (RACS) National Conference

Address: Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide SA 5000

Michael Janetzki was recently invited to speak at the Royal Australian College of Surgery’s (RACS) national conference for 2017. The annual meeting focused on numerous interesting and exciting topics relating to surgical intervention. Our practice was invited to contribute to an afternoon session focused on neuropathic pain. In conjunction with numerous specialists in this area, Michael presented a case study depicting current hand therapy approaches for Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) following surgical intervention for the upper limb. CRPS is complex pain condition, which can occur following hand and wrist surgery, and trauma such as fractures or crush injuries.

SA Hand Therapy has a specific interest, and passion, for treating complex pain conditions following hand and upper limb surgery, and this presentation demonstrated how things have changed and evolved to incorporate modern pain science, with specialist hand therapy practice. The Adelaide Convention centre was brimming with delegates from all over the country, and we were delighted to have been invited to contribute to the scientific program in this challenging and, we think, important area of clinical pain management.
