Libby graduated from the University of South Australia with a B.App Sc (OT) in 2009. She began her Occupational Therapy career in the field of paediatrics but in 2013 she decided to pursue her particular interest in hand and upper limb rehabilitation. Libby now has a special interest in finger injuries and in the post-operative care that must follow hand and upper limb surgery. Libby utilizes a client-centered approach when working with her patients, ensuring that all areas of occupation are considered. She has undertaken further training in advanced hand trauma, dynamic splinting, wrist injury management, and also in chronic pain management.
Libby became a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) in November 2017. This status is given to those who are recognised as having significant specialist skills and training in hand therapy. As part of attaining this full membership, she recently completed continuing education courses on assessment and treatment of the wrist and hand wound management.
